NWTC COSMETOLOGY Program

    Do you want to cut hair?  Perhaps you would like to design a perm for somebody!  Does being your own boss appeal to you?  If so, then the Cosmetology program may be for you.  If you are ambitious, good with people, and would like to be a hairstylist, manicurist, barber, skin care or make-up artist, then this program is for you!  Learn to work in areas that include: hair cutting, perm design, sterilization and sanitation, cell biology, professional image and good business practice.  This program will help prepare students for further education to complete the state required 1500 hours to become licensed.  If you have a desire to be a success in this industry, sign up for this exciting program.

Cosmetology I - 933 For the first year student

PREREQUISITES:  This class is open to all 11th and 12th graders who have earned a “C” or better in General or College Prep Biology.  This class meets two periods per day for all 3 trimesters for 3 credits. Students earn 2 Science credit upon completion of this class.

*Students need to be in this class for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters in order to get the most hours towards the state license examination.

Cosmetology II- 973 For the second year student

PREREQUISITES:  This class is open to all 12th graders who have earned a “C” or better in Cosmetology I.  This class meets two periods per day for all 3 trimesters for 3 credits.  Students earn 2 Science credit upon completion of this class.
