NWTC HUMAN SERVICES Program

Human Services students have a sincere interest in helping others.  Through experience, community involvement, and classroom instruction, students will learn about working with infants, toddlers, school-aged children, people with disabilities, and the elderly.  These students are preparing for careers as teachers, counselors, social workers, day care providers, geriatric service providers and workers in the health care field.  The Human Services students are responsible for many of the activities at “Curiosity Corners”, the Tech Center’s preschool.  Upon completion of this program, students will be prepared to either enter college or the workforce.  FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America) is the student leadership organization associated with the Human Services class.  Students will participate in group activities designed to promote individual growth, professional development, and the development of leadership skills.
